Obama's Chief In Staff
Is....
Rahm Emanuel Looks like he is a social liberal but tends to be more conservative on foreign policy. He is very pro-Israel and looks like he supported the first Iraqi War but wanted better communication between the president and the American people. Not much more info on him on there. |
His father was a known terrorist. See, see.....just like the Ayers connection.
|
Israelis aren't terrorists, they defend against terrorists.
|
*grits teeth* Must not have the Israel/Palestine debate with Radar. Must not have the Israel/Palestine debate with Radar.
|
Radar - I was just kidding, trying to get a rise out of someone. His father was part of Jewish group in Palestine that fought both the Brits and Palestinians and paved the way for Israel. The Brits really did consider them terrorists, but most (including me) view them as heroes. I'm trying to remember the name of the group. I'm sure I will think of it sooner or later
|
Errr, palmach?
Mossad? |
I found it. His father was a member of the "National Military Organization in the Land of Israel" (Irgun) a Zionist group that operated in Palestine between 1931 and 1948. It was established as a militant offshoot of the earlier and larger Jewish paramilitary organization Haganah
The Irgun was the armed expression of the nascent ideology of Revisionist Zionism founded by Ze'ev Jabotinsky. He expressed this ideology as "every Jew had the right to enter Palestine; only active retaliation would deter the Arabs and the British; only Jewish armed force would ensure the Jewish state". Initially, a central part of their efforts included attacks against Palestinian Arabs, but it increasingly shifted to attacks against the British. Some of the better-known attacks by Irgun were the bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem on 22 July 1946 and the Deir Yassin massacre on 9 April 1948. The New York Times newspaper described the Irgun as a terrorist group in the articles prior to the establishment of Israel. |
So Obama has a new web page up to cover this transition period, and he is actually soliciting ideas for how to improve the country.
So if you have a constructive idea, go to http://www.change.gov/ and let them know. I doubt he personally will read it, but at a minimum, a staff member will compile a tally of what the public seems to care about. It's kind of refreshing to have someone in Washington actually ASK for input, whether he reads it or not. Edit: Here's a direct link to the submit form, in case you have trouble finding the link on his page. |
this thread title is annoying me.
isn't it Cheif of Staff? |
Yeah, but the preposition used in a title seems kind of random. Why don't we have "mother of laws" instead of "mother in laws?"

That still wouldnt make sense.
Chief of staff = refers to authority over, hence 'of'. Mother in Law = is a relationship within the law, i.e recognised as a legal relationship through marriage. To make it Mother 'of' law would place that mother above, over law. |

How about Chief of the Mother(fuckers)s Of Staff?
Eh, I got nuttin'. Except, if you go in a house, you might be urinating on the carpet or some such thing. You go into a house. Is this relevant? Certainly not! |
