John McCain's Corruption - Keating Five

The Obama campaign has come out with an interesting video to remind people that John McCain was deeply involved in economic corruption as a member of the Keating Five and he has continued to act unethically by getting more contributions from financial institutions that are currently failing as Lincoln Savings & Loan did. The only difference is the damage is much greater now.

That belongs in the Truth/Rumors thread.

No. It's simply the truth. It's not a rumor. It's a fact.

TheMercenary 10-07-2008 07:58 PM

Rumor mixed with fact to make it sound factual when in fact it is a rumor. Hey, Radar posted it, what did you expect?

Well - you use a different dictionary than the rest of the planet so whatever.

Radar 10-07-2008 11:09 PM

No, I use the same dictionary as everyone else. You just don't know how to read very well.

Fact: John McCain was the most deeply involved (aka corrupt) member of the Keating Five. Keating paid for John McCain, his wife, kids, and even their baby sitter to go to the Bahamas, and paid large campaign donations to all five of them.

Fact: The Keating Five put pressure on government regulators to drop an investigation on Charles Keating and the Lincoln Savings & Loan

These aren't opinions.

What part isnt truthful?

Radar 10-07-2008 11:48 PM

No part of it is dishonest. They just don't like it.
