It would work, IF everyone got behind it - yes.

However, methinks that there are too many vested interests in the land of corporate greed for it to happen.
On the other hand, IF we the People yell and continue to yell loud enough, it could have a chance.

We've started tapping into Geothermal in Australia, it's only taken a good 10 years for it to start happening. New Zealand on the other hand has had a geo plant for many years, I remember seeing it in 1976 when I was playing tourist there. We've got a few Wind Farms happenin, but is all too slow a process

The first major desalination plant got commissioned last year ( in Western Australia) and now a few more are being planned around the country. Amazing that it took so long for the first major one to happen, esp when you consider that this IS the driest continent :headshake
