Google at Sea?
Sounds a bit far fetched to me, not to mention risky and an easy target for terrorism, storms, and loss of a huge investment. Maybe they are just fishing for a solution.

very interesting, but if they are looking to save money that plan doesn't really seem feasible to me. Too many variables - getting people to and from the ship, dealing with inclement weather... and so on.

Osama bin whoever could easily sink something like that without significant defensive measures, those which can't even be ensured by our own warships.

No effing way--these are the end times. They're building their own separate nation, in international waters: above the law, independant from the powers-that-be. They already know everything about us...and now this.
Youuu'll see! Youuu'll be sorry! Yer laughin' at me now, but you ain't seen what I seen! |
Well with as much money as they make they should just go up and buy up Greenland or something and declare independence. It would be doable.

My neighbor and I have declared our corner as a sovereign nation. We are much bigger than the back seat of many cars.

[JB:] Dude, the red phone is flashing. Let me scoop that up. Hello? Two Kings. [KG:] Who is it? [JB:] What?! No! No fucking way! [KG:] What? [JB:] Rage, there's a potato famine in Idaho, you gotta go down there! [KG:] Oh my God... what? [JB:] Dude, I gotta stay here! [KG:] Why do I have to go? [JB:] Please! Please! [KG:] Oh, God, okay. [JB:] Awesome... is he gone? Alright, emergency meeting of Parliament. All right Parliament, I know this is fucked up, but Rage, he can't be King anymore. Dudes, he's encroaching on my decrees! Seriously, let's make him Duke, a kick-ass Duke? Or "leader formerly known as King," but-- uh-oh he's comin' back... [sung] We'll lead as Two Kings, oh yes we'll really lead as Two Kings. |
Seven miles offshore (or less), the only tax they would avoid in property taxes. There are plenty of harbors safe from storms. It would work.
