Discovery Channel Ad.

Am I the only one who loves it, or do you love it too?

You know the one with that starts, 'I love the mountains, I love the clear blue skies...' and then the chorus is 'boomdiada boomdiada bommdiada...'

I'm a fan, makes me want to watch the Planet Earth series every time I see that commercial.

Fan here, too. I grabbed it from YouTube and sent the link all over. The shark with the seal flippers just barely hanging out of it teeth gives me a frisson of fear but even that is fun.

You'll probably like this then...

Also on my must see list:

Destroyed in Seconds. Man, I didn't see *that* coming...

TheMercenary 08-29-2008 10:49 AM

Great stuff. I love those.

Shawnee123 08-29-2008 12:40 PM

I have not seen the ad.

I remember *that* song, from campfire girls camp, but it went something like :I love the mountains I love the rolling hills I love the flowers I love the daffodils I love the fireside when all the lights are low...boomdiada etc."

Half would keep singing the boomdiada then the other half would start the chorus over...it was kind of cool.

edit: oops, just watched the commercial from BigV's link. Really cool!

Well I'm glad i'm not the only one. :)

Saw this ad. One of the scene is the guy from the dirtiest job. I really really love the way they presented this commercial. I would love be in a space shuttle and look at the earth.

I don't have access to the Discovery Channel right now, and I admit I rarely watched it when I did. Oh hang on, is that where I watched all the Michael Palin reruns...?

But to me - brought up on Life On Earth et al - it seemed very... American...?

Sorry, I know it's a contentious issue. But that was honestly my first reaction. Still, as I admitted above, I'm not a viewer, so perhaps it wasn't aimed at someone like me.

I don't know about that mate. There's lots of shows from all over the world on that channel although of course the majority are US based I guess.

Must be their pioneering spirit or something huh? ;)

I just read Mythbusters was created by an Aussie production company. Din't know dat. :headshake

Aliantha 09-01-2008 11:55 PM

Yeah...probably because aussies are a bunch of yobbos who don't believe anything. Also, we like seeing people try big experiments that go balls up sometimes. :)

classicman 09-03-2008 08:15 PM

She said "balls up"
