Ostracized from Right Thinking People(tm).

Also see the Robert Heinlein short story of the same name.

I hear much of this "Robert Heinlein" from you Nerdish Ones.

[channeling Lucy Van Pelt/] What's so great about him? Did he ever have his picture on a bubble gum card? Well, did HE? [/end channel]

Nerds masturbate to Heinlein. Seriously.

Heinlein invented the queredefansible!

and doesn't Coventry have something to do with pilgrimages?

And for those who don't want to follow Limey's link, if you send someone to Coventry, you all agree not to talk to them.

actually, I think I was thinking of "A Coventry Carol" -- one of my favorite Christmas carols, so I was associating it with religion

We used to sing the Coventry Carol every year at our school carol concert.
My Mum never heard it anywhere else, and thought it was specific to us.

One day, years later at another carol concert she turned to me in surprise at the fact it was on the programme.

In the wisdom of my early twenties I scoffed at her, telling her it was a well known carol and she was basically a silly old woman for thinking it was only my school that sang it.

Then when it started it was quite clear that no-one around us had any idea how it went. Mum was good enough not to say anything, although I burned with shame for the whole carol.

years and years of singing in choirs exposes one to all the carols. I love that one, though!
