People actually believe this is true!

In case I haven't mentioned it, I work for the Make A Wish Foundation.
We just got info on this today.
I can't believe people are actually believing this! It's from Onion.com!
We actually had to create a response for people asking about it!

Our response:

Thank you for your message regarding the video produced by The Onion, which is well-known for spoofing news events with its own brand of humor. Rest assured, the segment is not true and all characters, including wish child “Chad,” are fictitious.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is financially sound thanks to its many generous donors, and the Foundation will not grant “unlimited wishes” to a wish child. The policy is clear: We grant one wish to each eligible child with a life-threatening medical condition.
We appreciate your support for the Make-A-Wish mission and the thousands of courageous children we serve. Please forward this information to anyone else who may have concerns about the video. If you have any other questions about chain letters or videos, please visit www.wish.org.

Um, no. It's parody, not tabloid.

Wait, WTF? The other 6% are prepared for it? How did they prepare?

I'll probably be getting this one in my email. My dad has a cousin who sends them to him (and about 50 other people, all in the To: line), and he passes them on to me.

There was originally one state called "Dakota" and the 6% who prepared seceded to form the state of North Dakota. Mount Rushmore, being a mountain, is fixed in place and is thus unlikely to affect people that don't live in the same state when it goes on a murderous rampage.
