I have created a Facebook group for people who scored 60 or more points on their first move against Mrs. Dallas in Scrabulous* and still ended up losing to her. (There are currently four members, including me... I forget my word, but it was worth 70 points.)
*Scrabulous is a third-party Scrabble look-alike that you can play through Facebook. They are currently being sued by Hasbro over it, though for reasons I can't fathom Hasbro has no plans to operate their own version, since it's been wildly popular.** **I occasionally make fun of other people's typos, if they end up looking funny. (Hi Brianna! ) In the interests of full disclosure, I initially typed the "size" tag as "seize". Then I thought, hey, there should be a seize tag. How about it, UT??? |

which dictionary is PDQ in?
|
Qi is not in the US one, just UK/Aus, I think. Mine appear to have disappeared from the shelf so that is from memory, I may have it the wrong way around. I don't think there have been updates since I last bought dictionaries...
Hasbro have systematically closed down hundreds of online Scrabble games -there were a few good ones I found and one by one Hasbro hounded them into the ground. But they refuse to licence or produce anything other than the PC box game they sell which has an online option. Arseholes. |

You might be thinking of Xi, not Qi, one of the few X words... Its a greek letter. Not sure how come greek letters are allowed but foreign words aren't.
|
I can't remember the details of the dictionary we were using but it billed itself as "The Official Scrabble Dictionary".
FWIW if it were up to me I wouldn't allow PDQ. |

And they are the English spelling of Greek symbols that mean Greek letters. And, like you said, are in common use in many things in the English speaking world.
