December 7, 2007: Mike's Chicken
http://cellar.org/2007/chickenanddog.jpg
3 months ago, Buddy the dog brought this bird home in his mouth and was so proud. Henry (or Henrietta?) took up with him. When frightened, the bird headed for Buddy. It also roosted on dog's back. Bird didn't care for dog at top of photo. Sadly, now it's just some feathers in the yard. Maybe a fox, coyote, or bobcat got her? |
Whoah. Weird. I like it.
Is she trying to hatch the dog? Was she brought home as a chick that could imprint on the dog? That might explain some of this. But she looks fully adult in this picture so I don't think this is the case. I'm trying to imagine how they could have become such friends. What, did they save each other's lives or something? Alas for the passing of Henrietta. |
That's one for Ripley's, Believe It or Not!
Thanks Buster. |

does this settle the question then? the chicken came first, brought of course, by a dog.

I fucked a chicken once...I came first.
Also, does this make Buddy a "bird dog"? (sorry, couldn't help myself) |

Forget the chook, Look at that beautiful old John Deere! Excellent nick, it must have been built back in the forties(?).
