do you name your cars?

what kind of car, the name? or do you not?

it only counts if you actually refer to it by its name, btw.....some people will 'say' they name their car...but.....they make up a new name every time the topic comes up. don't be that guy.

You used to make polls with my name in them...you BASTARD! :::runs away weeping:::

elSicomoro 10-14-2007 10:30 PM

I've named my last 4 cars:

'88 Caprice: Lolita
'95 Metro: Putt-putt
'94 Escort: Mónica
'03 Malibu: Malibu Barbie

April's current car ('01 RAV4) is L2: It is the second Laverne (after a stray cat her sister took in earlier this year) and the second Lesbianmobile she has had (after I totaled her 2000 RAV4).

My car's name is the dumb mnemonic I made up to remember the license plate.

wait . . . RAV4s are lesbianmobiles?

monster 10-15-2007 12:11 AM

I named one, once, after a joke. I had a red Renault 5 -very popular car, very popular colour, very well known ad campaign "What's your's called?".

Joke: Clitoris. Because it's red, and every cunt's got one.

But Clit was the only car ever to get a name. And I usually used the pet form "cunt" when it played me up. :D

Ummm...duh!

To be fair, I might be buying a new one in the spring. I like them, and I like the fact that they're not huge, but sit up higher.

I name all my cars "Start you bastard". It's what I say to them most often.

A friend had a Honda named Fenry.

Undertoad 10-15-2007 09:18 AM

I said I didn't, but the ex used to do it and so I was forced to name the old GTI. "Geddy".

I now find that leasing reduces the instinct to lovingly mate with the vehicle, and now consider the thing basic transportation, more of an appliance than my personal ride.

If I'm able to lease a 350Z from James, maybe then I'll have that loving feeling, but with the roads around here all clogged up and the cops closely watching, I kind of feel like speeding around is a luxury I no longer have.

lumberjim 10-15-2007 09:25 AM

you don't want to lease a Z. I'll sell you a used one though.

Undertoad 10-15-2007 09:38 AM

There ya go. My dream setup I think, would be to have both a Z and a truck. That way one can really get things done. But to buy AND insure both... nahh. We will talk once I refi the house and J moves in. Then I will have some money again.

Rhianne 10-15-2007 06:03 PM

I love cars but I've never given any of mine names - and they're always 'it', never 'he' or 'she'.

bluecuracao 10-15-2007 10:13 PM

I can't believe I'm the only one to name all my cars. C'mon, fess up people! :D

DucksNuts 10-16-2007 02:55 AM

I cant believe only 2 people think Sycamore likes it in the dupa
