Got a new Bike

A Schwinn. Replaced my 10 year old GT. The tires weren't retaining air and the gears were clicky and sticky.

The Schwinn is awesome. :thumb: 21 gear mountain bike, vertical grips, 18", I transferred my front light and back blinker and my horse shoe lock and four digit lock and now my Schwinn is as pimped out as my old GT (except it's an adult bike, my GT was for a 10 year old! Thus, the timely replacement...). Except my old GT had a water bottle holder, damn...

And it only cost $149.99! Got it at Meijer! I'm so high right now, srsly.
The kids at U of I will be like "Hey, who's that cool looking bike nerd?"
Yeah. They will be.

Pictures! Please!

My only acquaintance with Schwinn is via Stephen King novels, where ridiculously small children power them amazingly long distances (I like his books, but I bet none of his children did that!)

my favorite bike ever was a schwinn stingray. banana seat, flag, monkey hanger handle bars. I painted it metallic blue.....got the license plate out of honey comb......did the baseball card in the spokes thing and all. It rocked.

They make a really neat Stingray now....big ass back tire, chopped....etc....

And you know, I've never seen one of those bikes going fast...

you could get one for yourself jimbo. I think you'd look really cute pulling up at the lights on one of those. :alien:

"Banana seat, flag, monkey hanger handle bars, the license plate out of honey comb, the baseball card in the spokes thing...."

That brought back some good memories. Thanks.

We were too poor for me to have a Stingray back in the day. I so desperately wanted one - the three speed with the stick shift on the center frame dual bars, with the big billy bar behind the seat. Those were such awesome bikes.

The new Stingray is even cooler. I think I posted something about that when they first came out, so impressed was I.

Nice bike FNC ( ;) )

Splode dude !! that was half the fun , begging , buying , borrowing , tradeing for the parts ,
building and adjusting it your self !!
I never had a SingRay eather ,BUT at one time or another I had ALL the components ,
never had the 3 speed , but I DID get my hands on a 5 speed once (SWEET !!!) ,
Oh and the springer front end does NOT like to be Chopped !!!!!

Then I put togather a 10 speed that became a single speed ( after the derailer died !!)
