Kathy Griffin Rocked That Shit!
Some are saying Kathy Griffin made an offensive speech at the emmys.
The EMMYS! Her SPEECH offensive! Yeah, ok... sure, so we don't read the lyrics anymore, right, and we turn a blind-eye to the deals the artists are getting? Offensive, what a fucking joke! http://www.reuters.com/article/enter...44512920070911 Quote:
I think they are being punk-ass-bitches who can't take what they dish-out regular. Also, you cannot be a bigot, or bigoted, about something that is a CHOICE. :whofart: Good for Kathy. I am SO GLAD someone finally said it! God/Jesus/Allah/The Easter Bunny does not give a FUCK about your stupid award you idiot! |
How about Sally Field?

Someone somewhere needs to grow a sense of humor. I'm just sayin'.
|
There was some full-page ad on the back of USA Today by some Christian group that performs at a venue somewhere in Tennessee...I thought it was funny, as well as what Griffin said.
I see a guy from the Catholic League on MSNBC on occasion...I believe his name is William Donohue, and he comes across as a mean piece-of-shit. |

The Emmy's are censoring her comments on E!
What a fucking joke! Nothing religious is offensive, it is just an opinion. Morons. |
i don't get what the big deal on either side of this is. People who believe her statement to be blasphemous make a statement. Should they get a personal apology for it? no, not unless she actually regrets what she said. The network heard what she said and decided not to air it. They would have done the same thing if she'd inserted Mohammed or Abraham in there, so it was fair play.

All religious references positive and negative need to be censored if that is what they are going to do. |
so the claim is that her right to free speech has been violated? if that is what has your panties in a twist you're wrong. Kathy Griffin has the right to say just about anything she wants, just about anywhere she wants - just like you and I. The network has the right to decide if airing a statement or anything else would cause more problems than they want to deal with.
If the claim is that this a ridiculous overblown non-event, then you're right. |
I agree that it has been blown out of proportion.
A LARGE part of that is the censorship by the network. But, again, if they are going to censor this they need to do it across the board with all religious commentary regarding the awards. |
|
I'm certain that if someone said the same thing about Mohammed they would censor it.
Just as I'm certain that if someone got up there and thanked Allah for blessing them with the ability to write, direct, star in a role they would air it. Personally I couldn't care less what any of these people say. Why do we feel they are important again? |
I agree with rkzenrage. If they are going to censor Jesus out of there, they need to censor Jesus out of rest of the responses, too. Makes no difference whether you are thanking him or not.
|
I have always found it to be very funny that if something good happens it is always god's glory but if something bad happens or something good does not happen it is never "jesus just did not come through for us today".
That is a real cushy set-up he has going for him huh? It would be AWESOME to hear a post-Emmy/Oscar interview with a loser who said, "yeah jesus really dropped tha' ball on this one". |
