Google problems with IE 5?

Stupid question of the day: Has anyone else been having problems lately with Google?

I've been visiting Google using IE 5.x (yes, I know), and it seems like I've been getting a LOT of browser crashes with "internal error" codes lately. Not all the time, or deliberately repeatable, but often enough to be noticeable -- and, AFAIK, it's always been when accessing a Google site (www, images, groups).

I've had the problem happen while using three different ISPs, on three different machines (two running Win98, one running NT4), and it's driving me nuts that I can't find an identifiable trigger for it. I can have it crash, start up IE again, go right back to Google and it'll generally be just fine.

Am I on crack?

Not me for google. But now that someone has brought up the topic, the cellar doesnt display right in mozilla. The problem is that the monkey/typewriters image doesnt show up at all, its justa link that says "The Cellar." And the user cp/register/members/faq/search/home pictures dont show up, its just the text of what the little popup help thinger is. I know im being extremely vague, but if Tony's interested in fixing the code, ill be more specific.

I havent had any problem with google on win2k/ie6 at all.

I use Moz as my standard everyday browser, no problems with it from here Kemosabe.

This sounds like a cache problem, I would start by investigating Preferences->Advanced->Cache. Try setting the "Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network" to "Every time I view the page". Try clearing your disk cache. Try browsing the actual image, which is here:

No...you've been having that prob too? It happened to me a lot over the weekend...Rho too. Sometimes, it would crash IE and say, "There was an internal error."

Could it be a server problem on Google's part?

I've read that, at times, Google is sending server signals based upon the following logic:

if [[ -shitty ${BROWSER} ]]; then
  crash
else
  send_web_page
fi

this is supposedly done at randome. hopefully that will clear things up.

Heh. Yeah, I'm well aware that IE is held together with string and clothespins (and it's not even GOOD string.)
