WHICH MUPPET IS THE BEST?

These are complicated questions so i will go slowly so you try to stay focused. Ok, first what is a muppet? Philosopher Homer (Simpson that is) defined it as "not quite a puppet and not quite a mop." SO how do you define it. Second, Which one is your favorite. And I realize that you have gotten dumber by reading this.

I can't decide between Beeker, the Swedish Chef, the two guys in the balcony
and the ever-popular Kermit The Frog.

So sue me.

Let's see here:

Oscar = homeless bum
Snuffleuffagus (sp?) = smack addict
Cookie Monster = crackhead
The Count = pimp

I suppose I'd have to go with The Count.

Statler & Waldorf (the old geezers in the balcony box) would probably be my pick... tho I'm also a big fan of Dr. Bunsen Honeydew of Muppet Labs.

I believe you're missing the obvious Supreme Muppet

Not that I'm biased or anything, but it's Scred, of course. The first set of muppets to have taxidermy eyes were on SNL's first season, and Scred was the finest of the bunch. Mean spirited, unfit for prime time, and a hit with the ladies.

I was always partial to Rowlf. Dunno why.

I like Gonzo...probably b/c he's borderline insane. :)

Well by the definition above, I quaify as a muppet, so I'm gonna vote for me. (Think dreds, a really big head, 6'5'' and thin)

Gotta go with Beaker - "Mimimimimimimi!!"

I had a white dove named "Beaker", cuz it had a big ole beak. Then I got two more and named em "Erlenmeyer" (nicknamed "Early-Bird") and Florence.

I hate Chemistry, btw -- too much memorization...

Sam Eagle!

Waldorf and Stadtler had the best one liners, definitely. I gotta point out Sam Eagle, though...easily the squarest character on the Muppet Show. I actually had a professor at college who was the spitting image of Sam Eagle.

The ever-popular frog wears a Red Hat at work.

This is a great resource of Kermitage.

ANIMAL RULES! He is in the Weezer vid "Keep Fishin" playin drums while Miss Piggy has the drummer tied up.

I did not know that muppets where on SNL, pretty cool. I love the movie Labyrinth but I think the puppets in that movie are qualified as "creatures" and not as muppets. Since Kermit does Sesame Street does that mean that the other puppets in the show are muppets? Should we define Muppets only as the creatures that appeared on the the OG muppet show/s or does it refer to any Jim Henson puppet?

I Love the sketches with the Snowths, the guys that do the "Dout doo de dena, mehna mehna". And who doesn't love Tom the Swedish chef. I also love Martians that go "Yip yip yip yipyipyipyip" on Sesame Street

Its pretty amazing the body of work that Jim Henson and his progeny cover. Here are the ones that either influenced me or I remember fondly:
The Muppet Show
Fraggle Rock
Muppet Babies (I was a kid then)
A Chritmas Together (Album with John Denver and muppets)
Dinosaurs (TV Show, forgot about that one)
Labyrinth (David Bowie)
Dark Crystal
Yoda ala Frank Oz
Muppets take Manhattan (not sure I like it)
Sesame Street (I even watched it today)

Things I wish I had seen:
Sam and Friends (first version of kermit as Sam)
Muppets Tonight (Muppet Show v2.0)
Jim Henson Hour
More movies
& More TV Shows and Specials.

It's got to be Bert and Ernie, the Abbot and Costello of Muppetdom. Miss Piggy was hot too
