Asymmetrical 'do's--I know what's UP
Shawnee was saying how there are two grown women in her workplace who have succumbed to the siren song of the retro asymmetrical hairstyle. Now, like all things retro, if you were young enough to wear it the first time it came around, fashion demands that you desist from wearing it the second time. You're too damn old!
So. WHY would these women do this to themselves? It's Posh Beckham. It's all her fault. |
Picture please.

*I don't know how to do that*
*shamed* |
My director made a crack about a consultant we had given a tour of our facility to: "I used to wear my hair like that, when I was nineteen..." reeeowr!

Is this what you are talking about? Sort of a reverse mullett where it's long in front and short in back?
|
Long in front/short in back is a "swing bob" ... "asymmetrical" implies a difference from side-to-side ...
But, yes, the swing bob is often (usually) the platform for asymmetry, as the photos illustrate. This post was mostly useless. |
What do they call it when you can only see out of one eye?

check out pics two, three and four--one side is definitely longer than the other (thanks, glatt!) She's doing an homage to Flock of Seagulls. Anyway, that's why otherwise normal chicks would do that to themselves.
I expect leg warmers will be next. |

I wouldn't be surprised too much by leg warmers. |
She could also have "chemical bangs" ... (the hair just snaps off, so you build a style around that)

Well, that settles it. Bri's right, they are trying to emulate Posh. Now may I ask WHY DA FUCK YOU WANNA DO DAT? Actually, the style rather suits the Posh...these ladies need to go home. I was in HS and college in the 80s, and I gotta tell you: the fashion, the hair, the music...it's all pretty lame (some great exceptions, of course) When this (and for god sakes no this isn't anyone I know) comes back, I will get into my rocketship and leave the planet:

Am I the only nerd here who keeps thinking of Louis Wu when seeing this thread?

What is this "style" thing?
