It seemed like a good idea at the time.
When you see something truly stupid about to be done put it here so we can be amazed at your forsight when we have a manure encrusted fan.
I'll start. US to arm Israel and Arab states in $60bn deal ..."There is no question that ... Saudi Arabia and a number of other countries are not doing all they can to help us in Iraq," Mr Khalilzad told CNN last week.... Let's reward a failing state, that isn't much of an ally, with cool high tech gear that will be in the hands of radicals when they fall. |
I'll give it a try.
South Korean Envoy to Meet Taliban Kidnappers Does meeting with kidnappers ever work? |
how about for old stuff, like this?

Giving billions of dollars of weapons to the Middle East ... what could go wrong? . . . . . . . Sadaam? . . . . . . . Osama? . . . . . . . My favorite part is that Israel complained about all these Arabs getting new weaponry, so we're giving some to them as well, as if that fixes the problem!

We have been giving weapons to all sides for 30 plus years. None of this is new. We armed both sides of ME regional conflicts as well. Carter was selling arms to both the Israeli's and the Jordanian, who in turn sold them to Syria. We gave arms to Iran and Iraq during their war. Now we have some new friends and we are selling them arms. No one should be shocked as if this is some grand revelation.

This is an interesting thread idea, but I see no reason it should be limited to politics.

Its not a grand revelation, its just kinda stupid. See post #4.

Representing one's self in court, especially in a family law case, like divorce.
"A man who represents himself in court has an idiot for a client." Yeah... I could fit that bill. |
Paying two sets of lawyers to divide our assets between themselves.
