Immigration and construction

I wonder if the construction boom and immigration is tied together? http://www.pipelineandgastechnology.com/nacr2007.html
Operators are planning nearly 25,000 miles of gas, crude and product pipelines in the U.S. and Canada.
Just where is this new energy coming from?
I suspect that the big money has flooded the job market with work so they can point to shortage of labor for jobs.
I work most of my life in the now, called energy related field.
I've seen company's set on work in an election year, to see who won.
Someone told me a 42" line from around Vicksburg was going to pass by here. And pay labor $15,?? per hr. They're paying the chicken plucker's worker the minimum wage.
So the chicken folks need workers. from where?
Unions at one time had a five year apprentice ship programs.
Now I guess that's down to a few weeks. Come one, come all.
Anyone who doesn't think big money runs this cluster fuck that was once the USA., is in a dream world. IMHO. bb

For a $14 starting wage, Boeing Helicopter requires applicants take a several week class at the Community College, free, but on your own time, before hiring.

I just discovered that class in not free. Pay $3500 and take it on your own time, to get an interview with no guarantee of being hired.
