I've had that--it's very painful. But it did go away eventually.
|
i had it for months when i used to walk regularly..in both feet. now just my left, and it seems lke it hurts worse. i dont remember injuring it, so im assuming that's what it is.....also it hurts deeper in my foot & on the left side more.

I think this is what beest has. He used gel innersole thingies and they helped a lot. I emailed him to look in on the thread.

I just Wiki'd it. Intriguing.
Get Dr. Scholls or something man. Arch support? |
One of the symptoms I had which I was told was classic is that it only hurts after you have rested, particlularly overnight, and then only for a few steps.
I used gel inserts , not the whole foot, just the heel, which started to help, then got an expensive pair or work boots with this sort thing built in, which were marvelous That was a couple of years ago and it seems to be back a bit. It may be the cushioning has worn out in the boots and/or becasue my gym shoes are old too |
Yeah, I have this too. It's definitely worst first thing in the morning. After walking for a few minutes, it's completely gone.
|
For my upcoming vacation I just picked up Dr. Scholl's sneakers with the built in Gel soles (stupid commercial, good product). The funny thing is that I picked them up at Value City and they were the some of the cheapest sneakers there ($28).
Thankfully, no major sports figures endorse them. One idea I have heard is to switch between different shoes so that over time the load on your feet is distributed differently. I'm not sure who scientific that is but some people seem real keen on that idea. |
I do that. i have gym shoes, kick about shoes and work shoes. I think this started when i wore some really spongy sandals i got for the shower at the gym. like....they streatched my arch wrong or something. but just the one foot.....i just dont want this to take 6 months to heal. and i dont want to be gimped out of my cardio excersise ive really just begun to enjoy. guess i'll swim more.

you could go do shockwave therapy (that ESWT thing oft advertised on the radio). it apparently works wonders, and not just for PF.

I have had this for 4 months.. Its very painful. I find using a tensor at night, and good insoles with the mmm.... just under the arch cut out.... helps. I also do stretching exercises each day. I still gets to the point I can not walk later in the day if I sit at all. The Dr says I have 4-6 months left before its a walking cast for 4-6 months then surgery..... YUCK!!!
|
that's unacceptable.

Go straight to a podiatrist, do not pass go. I would go to a local running store (not big box sports store) to ask for recommendations of good docs. If this is in fact a flaring up of the plantar fascia ligament: http://bracesupport.com/plantarfasciitis/flafoot.jpg if left untreated it can lead to heel spurs. If you thought you were in pain now... My father had lifelong battles with this in both feet, to the point of getting spurs.
Make an appointment NOW. |
maybe you should try getting a sneaker that has "motion control"
