Cut!

if you could change something about a movie what would you change?

°°° SPOILER WARNING °°°

MOVIE - 300

CHANGE - Towards the end of the movie, theres a scene where Leonidis and his men are completely surrounded by the enemy and the Persian king tells him if he kneels in front of him he will be spared. When he kneels down, one of Leonidis' men runs out of the defensive ball they're in, jumps off of Leonidis' back and kills a "redshirt" captain on a horse with a spear, which sparks all the men to begin fighting and eventually die. Wouldn't it have made more sense if the main reason Leonidis knelt was so his boy that threw the spear had enough leverage to reach the Persian king himself instead of some no-name goofball?

Movies shouldn't try for tidy little endings when the book is not a tidy little ending. Two examples (both happen to be Stephen King, one a great movie...the other just OK):

The Shawshank Redemption: In the short novel, we do not see that Andy actually finds Red in the end. But it's all pretty and wrapped tight in the movie.

Cujo: The kid dies in the book.

The most obvious change in my mind is the in the third Matrix : Revolutions.

It would be...the whole ending!! Kill those motherfuckin' rusty metal scrappin' robot bitches. And wtf is with that sunrise program at the end in the park? Gahhhhhhhhh, what a trip that movie was, so tense, only to have the final destination be... Rainbow Butterfly Parkway.

Hot Fuzz - the scene where Pegg & Frost are in the changing room. The camera never pans below their chins (from memory - will confirm when I get the DVD later this week)

Literally thousands and potentially millions of women miss the chance to perve at Pegg's specially trained buffed-up body. And slightly fewer (myself included) miss ogling Frost's nice fat belly. I do miss it. To the extent I was tempted to write a letter of complaint to Edgar Wright when I saw it at the cinema. But it seemed churlish given that I loved the film.

The end of the war of the worlds remake.

Never mind a lot of the minor shit but the teen son should have been mamed. Not horribly crippled or anything but a missing arm, lost eye, a limp for fuck sake would have been nice just to show that he got a taste of the fighting he wanted and maybe grew the fuck up enough to realize its best left to people who know what they are doing.

::Pants heavily::

(calm quiet voice) never mind abandoning his sweet little sister to an asshole whos only excuse for being a parent was he was cute enough to fuck.

::taps fingers on desk::

Okay I'm done. resume normal posting. :eek:

You could improve "Meet the Parents" by splicing the opening and closing credit reels together.

The Grinch remake.

I want to see The Grinch beat Cyndi Lu Who to death with a shovel, then roast the corpse over a bonfire of the stolen Xmas presents, then serve the remains to the rest of the Whos as "roast beast".
