Boost Plus maker sued over long-lasting erection

New York: Boost is the secret of his energy! A man has sued the maker of the health drink Boost Plus, claiming the vitamin-enriched beverage gave him an erection that would not subside and caused him to be hospitalised.

The lawsuit, filed by Christopher Woods of New York, said he bought the nutrition beverage made by the pharmaceutical company Novartis AG at a drugstore on June 5, 2004, and drank it.

Court papers of Woods say he woke up the next morning "with an erection that would not subside" and sought treatment that day for the condition, called severe priapism.

They say Woods, 29, underwent surgery for implantation of a winter shunt, which moves blood from one area to another.

The lawsuit, filed late Monday, says Woods later had problems that required a hospital visit and penile artery embolisation, a way of closing blood vessels. Closing off some blood flow prevents engorgement and lessens the likelihood of an erection.

The lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages, names Novartis Consumer Health Inc as a defendant. A spokeswoman for the company, Brandi Robinson, said on Tuesday the company was aware of the lawsuit but did not comment on pending litigation.
Personally, I think they should counter sue.

as they say, Priapism is no joke!

And how much are they paying this guy to "sue" them?

AN ERECTION THAT WON'T GO AWAY?!

::: scrambles to buy some of whatever it is I'm supposed to be fooled into buying :::

I love the way Viagra and the others have taken the required warning about, if it last more than four hours, and turned it into a marketing tool.
Four hours? Hot damn, that's for me! Forgetting the fact that anything over five minutes of calisthenics, would probably cause an aneurysm, from being out of shape.

uh huh. You're talking mighty BIG, fellas!

Sure, sure, for the first 3 hours the women will love it. After the novelty wears off though, it'll be just another place for them to hang their purses.:p

...or a towel rack.

After that, she'll definitely want to take some sort of precautions to avoid the chafing...

My thoughts exactly!

Seriously, I bet this suit gets tossed so hard it bounces three times. Ain't NO energy drink that good.

A friend of mine said if his lasted 4 hours he'd be out on his front porch yelling "4 HOURS!!!! Wooohooooo."

Another friend said if his lasted for 4 hours it would be SHE who needed the medical attention!

They can send a man to the moon, and give a guy a 4 hour erection, but they can't do a damn thing about the heartbreak of psoraisis. ;)

Urbane Guerrilla 06-13-2007 12:58 AM

And give a guy a four-hour erection by mistake.

Sundae 06-13-2007 05:43 PM

Isn't the temptation with a 4 hour erection to have 4 hour sex?
That's great for 18 year olds, but for those of us who have passed that magical age you need ALL your organs to keep up with your desire, not just the one in your pants..

I've always preferred sex like good Chinese meals: delicious, satisfying, (reasonably) short duration but many, many courses.

xoxoxoBruce 06-13-2007 06:36 PM

And in an hour, you're horny again.

Aliantha 06-14-2007 06:04 AM

hungry
