Grocery Bills Around the World
 

Time Magazine Online, has a photo essay of families around the world with their weekly groceries. They range from $1.23 in Chad to $500.07 in Germany, in US dollars. I suppose some of them are growing much of their own food, or buying it from neighbors, in rural areas.
I've also added the number of people in the family, in parenthesis.

Cllingbourne Ducis sounds like something out of a fantasy novel.

Maybe after showing what they are eating they lied about where they lived. heh heh heh

By the looks of the German picture, I'd say yes. That could be why their bill was so high.

I think our American diets and budgets is pretty accurate. I like all those things as well.

The Mexican's 12 big bottles of coke, for a week, struck me as a giant sugar rush.

I bet we spend something near that when everyone is home from school. Easily.

I think it would be an avocado and mayonnaise sandwich.

I thought we were over-doing it spending about $200-$225 every two weeks for a family of 4. That does seem inflated, maybe they buy a lot of prepared foods.


(I just looked at the photo there looks to be a fair amount of prepared food there. My $ didn't include meals out)
