Old Navy Summer Commercial

Re: the current Old Navy Summer Wear Commercial
Actually an ad for self mutilation.
I find it disgusting. There is not one attractive girl on the commercial, I feel sorry for every one of them.
Not one of them looks healthy and therefore sexually appealing.

wolf 05-22-2007 03:57 PM

None of the Old Navy Commercials are appealing.

I haven't seen this particular one, so I don't know exactly what's wrong with it.

Shawnee123 05-22-2007 04:01 PM

I saw it last night. I see exactly what rkzenrage is saying!

jinx 05-22-2007 04:05 PM

It's possible that you're not the target audience... but I haven't seen it either, what's the problem?

glatt 05-22-2007 04:18 PM

Sometimes I when I see an ad that really appeals to me for some reason, like maybe it has music I love from the 80s, I'll realize they are trying to target me. What bugs me is when the end of the ad comes and I see it's a cholesterol medication ad, or an ad for life insurance or something. Sigh. Why not a condom ad, or a beer ad, or something? What are they trying to say?

rkzenrage 05-23-2007 02:33 AM

Hmmmm, their target audience?... target audience???... hmmmmm.... people who masturbate to Night & Fog perhaps?

freshnesschronic 05-23-2007 07:41 AM

Ever go to the mall and there's this pregnant lady on the wall and you're like "...they need to tone it down with these mom-to-be advertising" and after a double take you see the fatty arms and no definition in the shoulders and then you realize she's a plus size model. I guess that's what Old Navy was looking for, though I haven't seen the commercial.

monster 05-23-2007 07:58 AM

This Ad?

Hime 05-23-2007 10:31 AM

Clothing models aren't supposed to be sexually appealing to guys, they're supposed to be thin so the clothes are the focus. If she had giant boobies, you wouldn't notice the clothes, would you?

Shawnee123 05-23-2007 10:34 AM

They also serve the purpose of making millions of women think they're huge, fat, and ugly. We should all be 6'3" and weigh 120 lbs. What the hell is wrong with us?

Btw, I've seen the commercial. There are CLOTHES? ;)

Rexmons 05-23-2007 10:42 AM

if you ask me the whole dam malls turning gay. it's funny because it's true:

Oh please. Self mutilation? Get over yourself RK.
If you think you're fat Shawnee then lose some weight, don't try to make it someone else's *coughlabratcough* problem.

If it is, I seriously don't get what Rzen's on about ... not a single goth or emo in the ad. Just a bunch of coatracks wearing bathing suits.
