How does it work?

I had it today in my dorm's field day for like the end of school.

Pardon me for my obscenity, but when I would like, drool a little saliva on it it would like burn, but not burn, but it looked similar to burning. Yeah.

What's the chemistry involved? Polysaccharides and H2O and waaaht?

It's the sugar disolving in the moisture from your saliva.

I haven't had cotton candy in so long.

I had cotton candy a couple weeks ago. I love the stuff.

I love that stuff. There's something extra special about walking down the boardwalk and trying to eat it before the sea breeze melts it.

I usually have to make do with bags of it that are sometimes available at local convenience stores. It's more like cotton candy that you've smooshed around for a while, but the taste is the same.

I always wanted one of those machines. There was a tabletop model that appeared in the Sears Wish Book one year. I wished for one a lot. Didn't work ... mom said it would be too messy.

I love it. :) When I was in college there was this storage company that would put up a booth every spring trying to get students to store their stuff there over the summer, and they always gave out free cotton candy as an attention-getting gimmick. It felt so fun and nostalgic walking down the city street eating cotton candy.

Every now and then I get a taste for it...good stuff!

Blue or pink??

Decisions, decisions.

I got some for Xmas 2006 (don't ask) that was multiple colors and flavors...it was pretty good.

As a young child I was afraid to brave the ladder at the top of the stairs and ascend into the attic, no matter how much my father encouraged me to explore the mysterious space illuminated by a single, dim light bulb. He told that if I could contain my fear, if I could steel myself and find the strength to go it alone, that I would discover a magical world where pink cotton candy -- free for the taking -- lined the floor, walls, and ceiling.

I'm not falling for that one, again.

I'm a fan of blue.
