Case Closed - Duke Lacrosse

So yeah everything's been dropped. It seems to look like the stripper made it all up. It seems everyone prejudged the case on race and class. It seems evidence was not as important as political gain.

Not yet. Case is still far from over. NC must investigate the prosecutor Mike Nifong for criminal misconduct. It is hard to believe he does not do jail time. However peers don't always like to do their job. Our remaining question is why Mike Nifong should not do jail time.

These guys had money to buy a defense, how many other americans are in jail because of corrupt district attorneys?

Yeah, but check this part of the article.

However, if the defendants try to sue Nifong for the way he handled the case, "they are going to have their hands full winning that civil case," said Cohen. "All public officials, and prosecutors in particular, are afforded tremendous immunity from lawsuits when they are acting in their official capacities, as Nifong was here."

Nice to have what everyone knew from the beginning actually be the outcome.

Civil suite by the victims is completely different from a criminal investigation and resulting prosecution by the state. Those civil suites will inevitably be attempted. But the real question is whether state prosecutors have the balls to investigate and prosecute one of their own.

Those are two completely different legal actions (criminal verses civil) with only one thing in common - the actions of Michael Nifong.

I'm still waiting for Sharpton to apologized for Twana Brawly.

Another point on which I can be found agreeing with tw. That so far seems to happen about once a year.

Do you know how to use Wikipedia, tw? That would have considerably improved your spelling of "Tawana Brawley." Oh, that's right... you don't know good copy from bad.

Mau-Mauing the liberal establishment means never ever having to say you're sorry. What a racket! Kind of makes you want to bring back flogging -- pants the guy and use an S&M suede flogger.

I'm waiting for someone to charge the prostitute with criminal libel. Does she just get to walk away from this going "oops, guess I was wrong. Time to start my rounds on the morning talk show circuit". None of the reasons that expanded this case to its eventual proportions should give her any shred of protection from her crimes against these boys.

Of course you know that if she were white they would have arrested her by now. Where is the Double Standard Gang when you need them?
