Not too many near me in Scottsdale, AZ but plenty near my office in Phoenix. And we are near a lot of schools. Not too bright but what can they do?

Hime 04-09-2007 03:38 PM

I wouldn't worry; they put people on the registry for everything from rape to using nudity in a political demonstration. I doubt that most of those people are a real danger.

Sheldonrs 04-09-2007 04:27 PM

I clicked on the "Convictions" buttons for the ones I saw and most were for sexual assault, rape and other crimes of that nature.
Only a few were for public lewdness, etc.

duck_duck 04-09-2007 04:35 PM

Oh my god! There are many in my neighborhood and a two on my street! :worried:

footfootfoot 04-09-2007 04:46 PM

They're pretty spread out around here. Only five living in our area. Probably a lot more in, or rather under, the cornfields...

duck_duck 04-09-2007 05:03 PM

Why are they allowed out of jail in the first place?

Happy Monkey 04-09-2007 05:10 PM

Because they weren't given life sentences.

Clodfobble 04-09-2007 05:28 PM

Six in our old neighborhood, and only two in our new neighborhood. We're moving on up! I do wish they'd include the year of the offense.

Presumably because they have served their sentence.

duck_duck 04-09-2007 06:07 PM

I guess my question should have been why are sex offenders given a sentence less than life.

DanaC 04-09-2007 06:09 PM

Well. Not to get into the debate of whether kiddy fiddling or rape deserve a life sentence.....not all sex offences are serious ones. Not all sex offenders remain dangerous to the public.

Does everyone's map not look like mine, with specific colored squares indicating the crime of the offender?? Yellow = Rape etc.?
I've got one yellow, 2 blue (sexual battery), and 1 green (other offenses) on my map.

They look the same. If you click on the colored squares, it gives you the info on the crime and the person convicted.
