4/23/2002: Falling bear
http://cellar.org/2002/fallingbearbig.jpg
Not quite as striking as the elk getting shot via helicopter, but this bear had to be tranquilized in order to save it. It was treated for a broken leg after getting hit by a car. This all happened in Charlottesville, VA. |
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay MSNBC!
In case you haven't noticed, I've completely stopped posting pics from the WIP here. I know that if they're good, you're going to get to them anyway. So even if one really strikes me, I let you get to it. This was one of those, as have been pretty much all the WIP pictures you've posted over the last... oh, eight months :) It really is a great source for images though. Word is that the bear turned out alright, by the way. |
I wonder where they ship them? We've been getting yer Philly dump bears here in NEPA, cost me a bird feeder a couple weeks back. I like having bears around but these garbage hounds are too comfortable with people.
|
In this case, d, I had the image a week before MSNBC posted their version! But the version I had was smaller.
I must get 1-2 images a week from there, it's a fine resource. |
hmmmm
1) Can a bear with a broken leg climb a tree?
2) If you were an animal control person about to tranquilize a bear, would you make sure no traffic is moving where the bear could fall? 3) If a bear is placed involuntarily into a K-hole by a tranquilizer dart, falls out of a tree and breaks it's leg, do you think the people that shot the bear would admit it, or would they make up some story? 4) If a bear falls out of a tree and there's nobody around does it make a sound? |
There is always a bear around if a bear falls out of a tree. Even if it's unconcious, I'd imagine that it can still hear the sound.
|
It's a bear market when bears are falling out of trees, it's a bull market when the Bulls start winning again.
