I'm Really A Lucky Person

I get to do cool stuff sometimes, most especially where music and Pagan stuff is concerned. This past Thursday, I had the distinct honor of running sound for Mr. Stephen Bennett, 1988 Walnut Vally Music Festival Fingerstyle Guitar Champion, and one of America's foremost virtuosos of the harp guitar.

If you do not know this man and his work, find some and listen to it. He is ridiculously talented. If it works out, I will shortly link a video of him playing some decidedly unusual, incredibly beautiful seasonal music for you all to consider.

He looks like a guy who would be a master of the harp guitar! very neat looking instrument and an intersting looking man. :)

And, by extension, so are we. Never would have known about Bennett otherwise.

Sorry, I couldn't remember how to embed this with the vB code. If someone can tell me which part of the YouTube identifier to use, I'd be grateful.

the stuff after the = sign. VE-ufX0K93A

Okay, let's try this one, then, shall we? Once again, a couple of beautiful tunes, Holst's "In the Bleak of Winter" followed by a tune called "Walking in the Air".

Very nice. Thanks!

I've never even heard of a harp guitar before.

Some folks make their own good luck. That's the crowd you run with. Bravo!

You are correct, as usual, Griff. Stephen actually mentioned that Walking in the Air was indeed from a Christmas animation.

That is really cool - I heard Steve Howe (from YES) play one a very long time ago. A very unusual instrument indeed.

Turns out "In the Bleak mid-Winter" is a standard English Christmas carol. It is really nice.
