Freeway sign

I'm not certain if this is real, but I found it amusing anyway.

Re: Freeway sign
Very cool...where did you find that?
Although I would think unlikely, it IS possible that it's real. I've heard of people hacking into the computers that control those signs. That, or one of the operators had a sense of humor that day. |
I found it on another board I frequent. It was posted by someone from Portland, so there is a chance it might be from there. Too bad I can't see any license plates in the picture.

The picture was taken in bloomington minnesota on I-494. I know this because i've driven under and over that bridge hundreds of times.

things that make you go hmmm
I think the sign is real.
I think the message is bogus. 1) The text doesn't look like little lamps, it looks like solid lines which someone then tried to blur, poorly. 2) Look at the reflections in the big rig to the right of the sign. There are two, one for the middle line of text, one for the lower. Note how the lower reflection on the truck is brighter than the upper, but on the sign, the lower line of text has (or would have) fewer illuminated lamps than the upper, and they are also farther away from the truck? 3) The implausibility factor. I think we've been photoshopped yet again... |
Video Signs
On my list of pet peeves are video billboards. For those of you in the Bay Area, my least favorite is the one on 101 just north of Redwood City. I can't think of the building it's on at the moment...Excite? Anyhow. My personal script kiddie fantasy would be to hack the video billboard with something other than the irritating ads. goatse if i were feeling particularly juvenile...

from fark
That would be from fark.com a month or so ago. I remember there being a photoshop contest using that as the original.
