Ruling Leaves Uncertainty at Guantánamo

Ruling Leaves Uncertainty at Guantánamo

"The executive is bound to comply with the rule of law that prevails in this jurisdiction."
JUSTICE JOHN PAUL STEVENS, writing for the majority in a decision on the Guantánamo detainees.

Good lord the current administration are the biggest bunch of hypocrites possible.

This is going to leave a bigger splotch on our history than the WWII detentions.

Over the last six weeks, the military custodians at Guantánamo have been rocked by desperate protests — the suicides of three detainees who hanged themselves from the steel-mesh walls of their small cells, the intentional drug overdoses of at least two other prisoners, and a riot against guards in a showcase camp for the most compliant detainees.
I think it's interesting that all these acts are public knowledge. After all, is on a military reservation, on an island, in a country where Americans are not allowed to go.

That would suggest that there is a certain amount of transparency to the operation....... probably also suggests arrogance on the part of the administration.
