Baghdad Embassy
I stumbled on a report in an Australian newspaper's online version about the US embassy in Baghdad. In a nutshell, the $1 billion dollar project will be a self-contained city with its own power and water and is the only on time project in Iraq. The article also reported that the citizens of Baghdad were somewhat offended over the matter, commenting that it was bigger than anything Saddam had built. It also mentioned in passing that the average Baghdad household had electricity for only 4.5 hours per day.
Problem is... I can't find any other source reporting this, most notably US sources. Anybody seen anything about this? |
Roberta Rossi is the spokesperson for the US Embassy in Iraq.
google "roberta rossi embassy iraq" and it gets you multiple hits. |
Does it have big bronze statues of Bush? :right:

At what point can the Iraqi government cite 'eminent domain' and just take it over?
|
When they have a functioning military.
Hey! That's how we'll know when to leave! |
the Iraqi military will become a cohesive defence force the day after the last oil well runs dry..........
|
the us military will voluntarily leave day after the last oil well runs dry
|
I may be splitting hairs Jag, but the US Military will be ordered to leave. I've got no argument with your timetable though.
I like to keep in perspective that this war is the politicians doing. The military is the tool being used. Kind of keeps the eye on the cause of the problem. ;) |
