3/8/2006: Oarfish, the real sea serpent
http://cellar.org/2006/oarfish.jpg
Neatorama finds this neato item - for those guys who always want a longer one, well there you go. Actually this is an oarfish, washed up on the West Australian coast. There have been at least six such washups in the last few months, which I take is more than normal. The beast is actual, but is really rarely seen since it lives very deep in the sea and only rarely surfaces. Quote:

I can imagine a shark eating finding a school of these:"Oh Boy! Fetticini!"
All I can see are three mighty fine fit guys. ;) Is there a sea serpent in the photo
all australian guys are like that leah ;)
NOT, believe me I've lived here for 39 and half years, but I must say the guy I've got now is pretty special and looks better then these three guys. :yum:
Sea serpent, eh? Yet another reason to simply LOOK at the sea and NOT GO IN IT.
Hey - I'm going to be there in a few weeks. I wonder if I will find one of those....... fish. Umm.. yeah... fish.
I'd like to hook one of these guys on my Zebco.
That fish looks awesome, but at the same time completely terrifying. I can just imagine swimming in shallow water and seeing one these things coming at me (alive or dead), I would probably kill myself in fear of it doing worse to me...:eek3:
Not to worry! I can figure out how to cook it. Just catch the sob.

I worded that wrong. You know what I meant.
I angle women only.... especially with my 'fly rod'. And when squrriel hunting I never shoot a female squrriel. How the hell do you spell squrriel anyway? skweral...skwurall.... wtf... |
Does that fish have any fins? It looks like it's made of plastic. That would explain why it's not good to eat.

Legend has it that there's a rare and even more elusive two-headed version, the Ether Oarfish. To catch that, Cleveland residency is definitely required. |
