Internet Coupons
OK, I admit that I have been called cheap at times. Not specifically relating to my stinginess in gift-giving or charity, but in my use of coupons.
I think of Internet coupons as printable cash. If it's for something that I was going to do anyway, printing a coupon that can save me $10 off of dinner is like being able to print a $10 bill. I use MyClipper mostly, as well as HotCoupons as my two favorite free sites, although MyClipper wants an e-mail address (I have never linked any spam to them). HotCoupons are related to the free coupons you sometimes get in the mail. I also sign up for the on-line Entertainment web site when we buy the Entertainment coupon book, and I check the AAA web site for any coupons through them related to my auto club membership. It's harder to check for coupons related to credit cards, although I can sometimes find them. When I go to rent a car, I sometimes have to flip between my Entertainment card, AAA, and Hertz Gold rates to find which deal is the best. |
After all these years you turn out to be an underground spammer! Had me fooled Rich!

I've always found that, even with the internet, most coupons are for things I don't generally use. Some of the internet coupon sites are searchable, so that's at least better than bothering to sift through the Val-Paks that come in the mail, but I'm still mostly too lazy to do it.
Now that I think about it, the only coupons I've ever gone so far as to print were for airport parking (happened to be on the main page when I was looking for the address) and photo studio photos (again, on the company's site when I was looking for a number to call.) I've never printed one off a site dedicated to coupons. |
I'm not sure if I've ever done the coupon thing, but when we travel, we've taken to booking our hotel on the internet through one of those hotel sites. (I don't remember which one.) Saved like $20 or so a night over what an AAA discount could have gotten us. I was a little uncertain the first time, since I never confirmed the reservation with a human being, but when we got to the Howard Johnson's outside of Hartford, they had a cheap room waiting for us.

Maybe if I mention the printable coupons at phillykfc.com, they'll send me a free bucket of chicken.http://www.cellar.org/images/smilies/yumyum.gif |

I love the airport hotels from most chains since they are usually the best discounted over the internet. We will be staying a night at an airport Hilton using my bonus points in order to save $300-450 in airfare. |
Valpak has an online edition too ... I printed off a coupon for 15% off my dinner before going to the horrendous mexican restaurant.

Tester San and I have been to Desert Moon (The one in Main Street, Exton). I enjoyed it. The serve yourself chips and salsa was a minor highlight. I liked Desert Moon much more than Los Aztecas, that's for sure.
