Serenity

Who's going to go see it opening weekend with me??

I have an overwhelming need to see the rest of this story played out, and that means the movie must do well enough for either SciFi to pick it up as a series again, or Universal to agree to at least 2 movie sequels. This movie must do well at the box office. I am politely grabbing you all by the shirt and begging for your help.

If you've never heard of the series, all sneak-preview accounts say this (incredibly good) movie stands on its own and is entirely enjoyable for the uninitiated. And if you have seen the series, then surely you understand my obsession.

Absolutely. Possibly more than once, but only once this weekend, since I also have to see Mirrormask.

I am on pins and needles.

I'm definitely going to see it.

Yeah, definitely...

The radio ads for it are funny. Instead of being about the movie, they are about the preview screenings and how popular and well received they were.

I don't get out to the theaters much. I'll catch it on DVD.

I'm caught on the horns of a delimma. One of my best, oldest friends is getting married this weekend, and I must choose which of these once-in-a-lifetime events to attend. . . .
Ooooh. All this agonizing is giving me a headache. :banghead:

Happy Monkey 09-29-2005 04:53 PM

It's not a 50-hour wedding is it? You can sneak off some time before or after or between events, can't you?

Perry Winkle 09-29-2005 06:05 PM

I'm going to see it tomorrow at 1pm.

Joss always manages to surprise me...

It was pretty good, but I must say I am disappointed by several plot decisions Joss made. I don't think there will be any movie sequels.

Happy Monkey 10-02-2005 03:54 PM

If it does well enough, two more are optioned.

Joss Whedon has a tendency to make a certain kind of plot decition on his shows, and still go on.

Troubleshooter 10-03-2005 07:47 AM

I thoroughly enjoyed it, I'm going to be seeing it a second time.

I'll avoid spoilers but I'm pretty sure I know at least one of the decisions people aren't happy about and I can see where people would be unpleased about it.

Happy Monkey 10-03-2005 09:15 AM

I would actually guess that most of what happened in the movie would have happened by the end of the second season, if the show hadn't been canceled.
