June 28, 2010: Swimming High
Remember Singapore's skyline the other day?
The Marina Bay Sands hotel towers, with it's Skypark, is one of the newest changes to that skyline. http://cellar.org/2010/poolop.jpg Quote:

that's freakin cool. i bet it's freaking windy as all freak, though.
Try getting that thru all the f**ked up planning people and building (bribe)inspectors around here!
I've never particularly wanted to live on the edge, but that pic made me want to go and swim on the edge to see what was on the other side.
That is fantastic. It gives me that nervous feeling you get before you do something totally stupid that you should survive.
That pool needs a diving board.
Or a water slide to the bottom
Scary. In a good way.

That whole thing is like a huge surfboard perched on top ot THREE towers.
The water just flows into a little moat where the real danger is getting pureed by the circulation pumps. |
And they put fences around here- Sheeesh!
There is no way in this world that I'd ever swim in that pool.
How about water skiing?
Bruce, That pool looks like an accident waiting to happen.
More like a major disaster. Tiiiimmmmbbbbbeeeeer.;)

Okay, who peed in da pool??
the pool curves like a banana. You can see what is on the other side of the water if you look way down to the other end. Instead of being curved concave, it should have been curved convex. That way, you wouldn't be able to see at all what is on the other side, and it would be that much more terrifying.
I wonder what the water weighs?
Hmmm 8.33 lbs/gallon, 150 meters long... a lot. |
