Ester C vs. regular C

Do any dwellars know if ester C is in reality better
absorbed than plain vit. C?????

I'm taking 500 mg. of magnesium and need to take a C along with it. Any suggrstions on which one?/

Best absorption, barring any personal bio mechanics that stop it, are from food sources, not pills. Add more citrus into your diet if you can.

If pills are necessary, then standard, no-frills vitamin C tablets do fine. That's what my mom took when she was on antibiotics for the long term for a while and needed Mg supplements.

broccoli is better than citrus. but not as good as peppers

If you're taking vit C and need to absorb it all, take the ones with sugar in them. The sugar helps them absorb faster, which of course means they don't just get flushed straight through your body.

You could also just have a glass or two of cranberry juice. That'd probably be better, and it'd help stop urinary tract infections too. ;)

go for liquids like Ali said Cranberry is really good for ya. AND eat your veggies. A large salad with GREEN lettuce(s) peppers, broccoli and the like. Between the two you'll be getting all the C and much more that your body needs.

The Ester-C costs more for fewer pills and therefore must be better. Right?

classicman 06-11-2012 02:51 PM

wrong. Look at Shaklee or Herbalife products costs....Are they better?

My friend who sold Shaklee 25 years ago said they were.

No, I never bought any.
