Bernie Bails

Well, that's that. Once more PA voters don't matter.

Griff 04-08-2020 11:01 AM

Of course we'll matter in the general when we have to choose between two candidates crammed down our throats by the Super Tuesday idiots.

I'm gonna write in Griff. :folks:

There's still plenty of time for Bernie, Trump, Biden, Pence, and even Pelosi (third in line after Pence) to catch the coronavirus. Just ask Boris. Nothing in the world is set in stone right now, and November is a long way off.

Interesting twist: he isn't running for President, but he will remain on the ballot in the remaining primaries, racking up delegates so he can wield maximum influence at the convention.

Griff 04-08-2020 02:10 PM

Yep. Looks like he'd like to push the DNC around a little bit.

A fair goal, considered that voters agree with his policies, just not him as a candidate.

You forgot some between that and voters.

Smokin' Joe is the presumed nominee.

Is Smokin' Joe socialist?

Has Smokin' Joe adhered, or promised to adhere, to Bernie's policies?

No, reality is some folks liked Bernie, some folks liked his policies, but not enough to win him the chance to go up against my employee.

The other possibility is: most did or do want Bernie/his policies but the powers that be in the Party said no.

Pick your poison: Bernie/Socialism is a loser, or, the party of the people thwarted the will of the people.

Flint 04-09-2020 03:21 PM

It's not that complicated.

When you look at a list of his policy positions, polling indicates that a majority of Americans--Democrat AND Republicans!!--support his positions. It has been this way since 2016 and it's increased over time.

1) he's not the nominee-- true
2) a majority of Americans support his actual positions-- also true

That's all I'm saying, and it's not an opinion.

Which polls? And, if true, why isn't Bernie the nominee? If the majority agree with him, he'd be a stone-cold winner, yeah?

it's not an opinion.

Yeah, I think it is.

It's not that complicated.

If you're right, then it must be hellishly complicated otherwise Bernie would be the guy, not Joe.

Again: Bernie supporters are a losin' minority, or, the powers in party of the people circumvented the will of the people.

Flint 04-09-2020 03:43 PM

it's the second one. new to politics?

since when does what people actually want matter to who gets elected? lol
