Here we go again...

So, it's a hung parliament.

Should make for some interesting times in politics.

I've been really impressed with Corbyn since the election campaign started gathering momentum.

I tried to ignore it all and not engage with the hope - but then I watched his speech in Runcorn and found myself feeling engaged again.

Well - a pretty good result all things considered. Ok, the Tories are still in power, but barely - they certainly don't have a sufficient mandate to force ever more right-wing policies and a hard Brexit on the country.

Meanwhile, Corbyn has shown that a more Keynesian approach to economics does have resonance and isn't a ridiculous act of political suicide. Which should hopefully take the wind out of the sails of the 'new labour' wing of the party. Chasing after the tories and trying to prove we're just as uncompromisingly pro-business and anti-poor and down with the neo-con agenda as they are is not the way to win the support of working people. The electorate deserves to have a real choice between different viewpoints and political solutions.

Groovy.

I would really love to be a fly on the wall at the two party HQs

Also, I just realised I told a mainly American dwellardom that my country faces interesting times - I probably should include the caveat that it's probably nowhere near as interesting as America's current political scene :P

May's speech.

May is hilarious. and the conservative party’s pairing up with the DUP looks funny when they have contradictory views on some issues. my favourite part of conservative's manifesto is that they are going to build one million homes by the end of 2020 (with only 150,000 homes built in 2016/2017 https://tranio.com/united-kingdom/an...m_campaign=699 ) it's just killing me. and I'm not even sure May was the lesser of two evils. I'm so disappointed with the election results
