Sunny Side of the Street
Ok Republicans - how long till everything is sunshine, lolly pops and rainbows?
When can we expect all those jobs back? I assume everything is gonna be fantastic now that republicans are in charge of my state. |
I'm hoping for right before the weekend. I need a little extra cash.

When we oust Obama and elect the Jeb Bush/Palin ticket. LOL
|
Yeah so Palin can refudiate all those socialist policies.
|
I'm still stuck with Schumer and his clone Brunhilda.

How long was that now? Two years later and everything is 100% perfect! And to think, he did all that while struggling under the burden of controlling every branch of the government simultaneously... |
A news quiz this week showed the clip of Christine O'Donnell talking about scientists crossbreeding men and monkeys and coming up with mice with human brains. We had to pause it because we were laughing so hard. Then I told Mum she was not only serious but she was actually standing for election.
The first thing Mum asked me when they were announcing results was, "Did the mouse-woman get in?" |
O’Donnell received 40% or, 123,025 votes.
That's more frightening to me. She is one knucklehead. Whats the excuse of the over 100,000 that voted for her? |
Ignorance is being strongly pushed as a virtue.

Even worse was Alvin Greene - He got 356,969 votes.

I propose that there may be some other plausible explanations. Out of 100,000 people, how many do you figure were aware to some degree that she was a complete dipshit, but would rather have her dumb ass in office than even one more Democratic to vote on legislation? Surely that accounts for some of her votes. How sad is it that some people would rather vote for a complete imbecile than risk electing a Democrat? Of course I'm assuming that human beings by and large are capable of higher functions (such as having priorities in decision making) rather than leaning on the comfortable illusion that those who disagree with me are simple, one-dimensional caricatures. |
All of those explanations are completely compatible.

touché
However...it gets harder to justify the arrogant dismissal of 100,000 thinking, feeling human beings as "ignorant" if one considers the unconsiderable possibility that there could exist a valid set of arguments (albeit ones that you do not necessarily have to agree with) that bear the conclusion that the current Democratic platform is not what "we" (the people*) want. * specifically these 100,000 people, in this case (otherwise known as the ignorant, unthinking automatons) |
