Mar 28, 2009: Pink Elephant
Wolf told me she'd seen a pink elephant.
Well, we know Wolf loves her some mead. http://cellar.org/2009/pinkelephant1.jpg And I know she's got toy/stuffed critters, but mostly mooses. http://cellar.org/2009/PinkElephant2.jpg So I thought maybe she saw a tourist trap, or maybe a commercial promotion? http://cellar.org/2009/pinkelephant3.jpg But it turns out she did see a pink elephant... and so did the BBC. http://cellar.org/2009/pinkelephant4.jpg Quote:
But it turns out it's not a good thing. Quote:

Here is the struggle of the conceit of man. Should we "rescue" him from the harsh African sun, or let him "struggle" to survive? Should we interfere, based on our "superior" knowledge, or let nature take its course? He can't walk in the shade of his mother forever.

So now Campbells Cream of Elephant Soup is not going to be gray anymore?

It probably wasn't the same pink elephant.
|
Shouldn't that be OTIS CAMPBELL'S soup?

A long, long time ago me and my friend Mike were sitting on a bench on our town square. At 2:45 AM. When a convertible pink Cadillac ElDorado drives by pulling a flat trailer. On this trailer was the fucking twin to this pink elephant, horn-rimmed glasses and all, in its trunk it's holding a giant martini with an olive in it the size of a basketball. Did I mention we were absolutely sloshed? We watched the spectacled spectacle go by in silence. Then Mike calmly turned to me and said "I didn't see a goddamned thing." True story.
I wonder if this the same one (trunk is in right position)? How many can there be??? |
er... might wanna ease up on the sauce, digger.

A schoolmate of mine's dad was a clown. Professionally.
Anyway, one of his props was a very large pink elephant. I'm not sure what it was made of, couldn't have been paper-mache because it sat out on their front lawn when dad wasn't working, often sporting a party hat and a "Don't Drink and Drive" sign (This was well before MADD). Now this is funny: I was trying to see if anyone else had posted anything about Zetty's pink elephant. I didn't get any hits for it, but it's amazing what you can get by entering a couple of simple search terms into Google: Quote:

I guess pink is the new grey.
