A New Laptop

I'm getting a new computer, I'm tired of my MacBook no longer doing what I want it to do. I'm thinking about getting a Lenovo does anybody know anything about them? This is what I'm looking at.

Except fuck Win10. And anything new.

Keryx's computer has Windows 10 and she likes it. It works just fine.

Gravdigr 08-29-2017 02:17 PM

I don't like change.

fargon 08-29-2017 02:20 PM

I don't either, but I want things that I pay a lot of money for to work the way they are supposed to.

I like change, but not when it makes things more difficult. HATE Win10.
Mom has had a few Lenovo laptops. She likes 'em.

Simple benchmark for any better manufacturer. It comes with comprehensive hardware diagnostics - for free. Any problem and the defect is immediately identified - without lots of confusion, swapping parts, etc.

For example, my Dell laptop suddenly had strange characters appearing intermittently on its screen - when room temperatures exceeded 90 degrees F. Executed diagnostic. It found one defective memory location in the GPU memory. Video card replaced for free under the warranty. No problems since in ten years and operation even at temperatures approaching 100 F.

All manufacturers have those diagnostics. Only a few more responsible ones will provide them, for free, to customers - with the computer, on a partition in the hard drive, or on their web site.

Thank you tw.

On the other hand, if your laptop contains those diagnostics, and it's NOT a problem the diagnostics can identify, tech support will still insist on running the fucking diagnostics every single time you call, even if you're calling back about the same problem they already ran the diagnostics for and still are failing to solve...

Screw Dell lap tops and win 10. Main reason I've not been around.

glatt 09-02-2017 06:20 PM

Buster! How's it going otherwise?

Many people love Lenovo. Looks good in reviews and Stats.

I HATE MINE

monster 09-02-2017 08:41 PM

....and Win10

How do you resize a picture so you can post it on the cellar? I can make it physically smaller in paint but I can not make the KB size any smaller.

This is me. I hate the "apps". Admittedly, I'm not a computer person but I find the interface completely counter-intuitive. Mine is currently bogged down with debris. I'm probably going to have to reload it.
