Talk Radio

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh in another persons truck yesterday, when Rush put out this information: A family making $14,500 dollars a year has more disposable income then a family making $60,000 dollars a year. We are supposed to be up in arms about this, and I suppose tax the family making $14,500 since they have so much disposable income while us middle class like folks slog away making $60,000.

I was hoping that someone much smarter then I could help me out here. Because I just don't see the math working out.

I suspect his definition of 'disposable' income might differ from mine.

Even if you took rent and bills out of the equation, good luck just feeding a family on 14k a year.

Want to save for your child's college fund? Is that disposable income? bet there isn't much of that in a 14k wage packet.

I suspect Limbaugh is a full of shit idiot liar.

We discussed this a year ago, and I debunked it here.

This pretty much sums it up. He's playing numbers games again which UT refuted in his post.

Just saying, there are people out there who take what he says as the gospel truth. It's sad, really.

The equvalent down here (three are several, alas) is Alan Jones.

A few years back he was taken to court for some particularly offensive piece of BS.
His lawyers successfully argued that what he does is entertainment, not news and so he can -roughly - make shit up. Which he does.

Sadly, he is not required to remind listeners of this, and a significant number of people believe him.

When the FCC tried to censor Howard Stern, the first to come publically to Stern's defense was Limbaugh. Because, as Limbaugh quietly admitted, he and Howard Stern do the same thing.

The only, and I mean only person on talk radio who knows shit is Art Bell.

That was sarcasm.

All talk radio is shit. Unless you're trying to get to sleep.

Mark Levin is some kind of ignoramus? Man, that one is worth a whistle. But not one in praise of your judgement, Grave. Now open a fucking book or two, all right?

Unless it's sports talk. Then it's buffoonery.
