Of course, where applicable, DST is observed in the Northern Hemisphere
and Southern Hemisphere during different months of the year.

Why AZ and IN do not observe DST is beyond me. It used to confuse the shit out of me when calling my friend in Phoenix.

I'm more confused as to why the rest of us wreck our sleep patterns twice a year. I wonder what the health impact is nationally? Mrs.G is fighting some kind of infection right now, that extra hour of sleep is gonna be sorely missed tomorrow.

I had an old great uncle who refused to change his clocks... said he was sticking with Gods time. I never asked him if he set his watch to a sundial or if the Good Lord set it for him at the factory. ;) I kinda see his point though, if we had never done it before where do they get off changing the time. Ah well its all relative anyway.

When I was in school I always went on a bender to reset my internal clock. It worked like a charm... mostly.

Be not confused.

The area of Palestine has had varying Daylight Saving Time rules as the dramatic politics of the region have swayed the occupying power. Being closer to the equator than Europe, there is less need for DST, but it has generally been observed anyway. At present, as a sign of independence from Israeli rule, the Palestinian Authority uses a different schedule than Israel.

I'm not confused about the rationalizations.

I am however annoyed that the cars will be on the roads an hour earlier just when cycling season is starting. I'm annoyed that the kids are gonna whine for the next week that its too early for bed at night and too early for the bus in the morning. I'm annoyed that my wife is gonna get sick when she just came off anti-biotics all because we are a race of sheep who wouldn't think to get up with the sun. I could just be grumpy though, what with my f'ed up sleep schedule. ;)

Everyone I talk to likes the change. For the life of me I can't understand why folks don't change their own schedules to suit their daylight preferences. Maybe they don't want to give up Leno? Ah well whats a few more dead cyclists here and there. I'm often suprised at how out of touch I am. Cool.
