Jan 8th, 2020 : Looking Up
No source, no link, no explanation, just a very cool picture.

Cool picture. I can't decide if I want to call fake or not. It looks almost too good to be true. But I don't want to be that jaded guy. It very well could be real.
The moon looks really big, so the camera is zoomed in. However, there is a lot of mast visible for a camera that's zoomed in. But masts can be really tall, so maybe it's just the very top portion of a tall mast. A lot of times, you can see an obvious fake by looking at the outlines of the foreground object compared to the background, and this one looks legit to my eye. It's a remarkable photo. |
Bootiful.

I think it's probably a composite photo.

If you search for Portuguese caravel mast moon (caravel is the type of ship, most likely a sailing replica), you'll get those kinds of images with various sizes of moon.
More on this particular image can be found HERE. |
Nice find!

Although the name of the Contributor doesn't look like a link, it is and you can click on it to see more of that person's work.
You can also enter mast moon into the search function for the website to see other images of the moon by ships' masts for size comparison. |
I'd like to thank whoever/whomever paid $50 to post a copy without all that Alamy shit on it.
