help--silly question re: car
So my little metal logo that says "Civic" is falling off the rear of the car. It looks like it's just stuck on there (rather than being screwed on or something)--do I just glue it back? Using what kind of glue?
|
3M makes an automotive adhesive usually available at auto parts stores. But, is it necessary? Just take it off and and use a credit card to remove any adhesive remains.
|
necessary? nah, but I want it on there. Iwill look for the car adhesive, thanks!
|
Maybe some kind of epoxy, mix the elements together and it sets into a super-adhesive. That's what I used to put my rearview mirror back on.

Type-R sticker guarantees 20 more horsepower just fyi.
|
Can't use epoxy or super glue. Has to be trim adhesive, which is flexible, because the metal and the trim piece move at different rates in the heat and cold. Anything stiff and brittle will eventually fail.

Snot?

(smacks forehead) now, why didn't I think of that! :)

Double sided, waterproof foam tape. Remove all the old adhesive, clean the surfaces with metho/white spirit, stick it to the badge and trim to fit.
Should last for ages! |
