John Kerry?

Gravdigr 10-19-2013 04:48 PM

Aaaand it's Ms. Fobble for the win.

That is Chris Christie.

In leaner times.

Gravdigr 10-19-2013 04:49 PM

I figured there would be at least one guess for Stallone.

Who is this dishy dame?

Clodfobble 11-06-2013 08:04 AM

Heh... Bea Arthur was the first thought that popped into my mind, but I don't think it's her.

glatt 11-06-2013 08:32 AM

I was thinking Betty White, but I feel like I've seen early pictures of her, and she didn't look like that. IIRC

Gravdigr 11-06-2013 09:28 AM

Is that Lillian Gish?

ETA: Mary Pickford?

footfootfoot 11-06-2013 12:46 PM

no no no no and no

Gravdigr 11-06-2013 03:07 PM

The woman who voiced Betty Boop (and at least a dozen other cartoon characters), Mae Questel?

Gravdigr 11-06-2013 03:07 PM

If that ain't her, we earnestly request hintage.

And by 'we', I mean me.

footfootfoot 11-06-2013 03:15 PM

Hintage:

...anything you can do I can do better...

Gravdigr 11-06-2013 03:40 PM

Holy underwear!!

Is that Ethel Merman?

orthodoc 11-06-2013 03:43 PM

That is Ethel Merman. You beat me by a hair, Grav!

Gravdigr 11-06-2013 03:58 PM

It's cuz Im a badass.

:D

Gravdigr 11-06-2013 03:59 PM

Ethel was a bit on the hot side.

BigV 11-06-2013 05:58 PM

BigV 11-06-2013 06:00 PM

Not really a Who Is This?, but, rather, a Is That Really Who That Is?

The pic says that's Vladimir Putin, yeah, the guy with a fuckin' head full o' hair, and the camera around his neck. It sorta looks like ol' Vlad. But, I just can't sell myself on it.

What do you think?

Attachment 46607

infinite monkey 01-19-2014 02:11 PM

It looks like he's also got a flask around his neck, so yeah, that's him. ;)

Clodfobble 01-19-2014 02:35 PM

I believe it. He's doing that "arms half at the ready" thing that Secret Service agents do... And I don't believe that the Russians in 1988 would allow random civilians to get that close to leaders, foreign or otherwise.

Griff 01-19-2014 03:32 PM

The crazy part is the Secret Service was cool with it?

Lamplighter 01-19-2014 03:57 PM

Yes, but what is Larry Flynt doing out there with Vlad ?

Not crazy, nobody here but your people and my people, no civilians, no surprises, lovely photo-op, and everybody goes home tonight. ;)

2.Attachment 46659

3.Attachment 46660

Clodfobble 01-25-2014 05:18 PM

Number 2 strikes a small bell of recognition with me, but the other two, I've got no clue.

Gravdigr 01-26-2014 12:11 PM

I'll give some of the others time to see 'em, then I'll drop a few hints.

If needed.

glatt 01-26-2014 03:02 PM

Two looks like Amy Poehler.

I don't recognize anything about the others.

glatt 01-26-2014 03:04 PM

One looks a little like the guy from Scrubs and Garden State.

Clodfobble 01-26-2014 04:09 PM

1 and 3 are both modern photos, so I figure they're probably grown-up versions of famous children. I think you're right about number 2 being Amy Poehler.

Gravdigr 01-26-2014 05:09 PM

A few hints:

1. He's a successful judge.

2. She has the eye of the tiger.

3. He has trouble focusing.

Gravdigr 01-26-2014 05:11 PM

No. 2 isn't Amy Poehler. Neither are nos. 1 & 3.

1 & 2 I didn't expect to take long. I don't really expect anyone to get 3.

None have been guessed so far.

xoxoxoBruce 01-26-2014 05:24 PM

#3 is Robin Thicke.

I'm expecting this to mean a judge on American Idol or Dancing With the Stars or something similar, but I don't watch those shows. There's no way it's Simon Cowell, and he's the only one of that ilk that I can name.

Correct.

Gravdigr 01-27-2014 12:32 AM

#1 knows how to foil a prison bloodhound.

footfootfoot 01-27-2014 11:19 AM

I googled them and I have no idea who any of them are.

glatt 01-27-2014 11:35 AM

I saw #1 on the Grammys last night. Blake Shelton.

If the other guy is Robin Thicke, then the woman must be somebody like Pink or something, but she's not Pink. Who's a middle aged singer?

Oh, shit. Those eyes. Is that Katie Perry?

Gravdigr 01-27-2014 02:06 PM

#1 is Blake Shelton.

#2's eyes do, indeed, belong to Katy Perry.

Meaning you unsuccessfully Googled them, or, you actually don't recognize the names?

If it's the latter, damn, man, poke your head outta the cave once in a while.:lol2:

Griff 01-27-2014 04:59 PM

I've heard of Katy Perry... the others? nope.

Happy Monkey 01-27-2014 05:10 PM

I know who Katy Perry is.
I've heard the name Robin Thicke, but if asked I would have thought he was on "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" (Robin Leach, apparently. Before my time, but I was aware through cultural osmosis. When there were only four channels, osmosis was stronger.).
Never heard of Blake Shelton.

lumberjim 01-27-2014 05:18 PM

#1: Blake Shelton sounds like a Country Sanger. #3: I thought of Alan Thicke....are they related?

I have a really good version of Shady Grove by an Alan Shelton... whoa, another Alan.

Alda better stop right there.

Clodfobble 01-27-2014 06:01 PM

Yeah, Alan Thicke is his father.

lumberjim 01-27-2014 07:35 PM

James Alan Shelton

I've heard a bunch of different versions of this, including several by Jerry Garcia... but this is the one that has the hook for me.

footfootfoot 01-28-2014 06:39 AM

I only knew who Katy Perry was because one of the girls in school dressed up as her for Halloween. I successfully googled them and had no idea who they were, apart from KP who, I gathered, once kissed a girl and found it wasn't an altogether unpleasant experience.

My cave is comfy, why would I want to poke my head out? (Apart from the chance of watching two girls kissing)

Attachment 46738Attachment 46739

I guess you could Google all the players who wore #50 for Wichita State...

Clodfobble 01-31-2014 04:05 PM

Kind of reminds me of Chris Christie...

Gravdigr 01-31-2014 05:19 PM

Heh, it does, kinda, doesn't it?

But, no.

Gravdigr 02-01-2014 05:16 PM

Hint:

At seven feet tall, and 415 lbs, he is still in an athletic(-ish) form of show business.

And I'm gonna need some form of a name, what he does won't feed the bulldog. His 'real' name will get you extra points, though.

Gravdigr 02-01-2014 05:18 PM

I'm out, maybe til Monday.

So...guess away.

Clodfobble 02-01-2014 05:19 PM

That's not Andre the Giant, is it?
