This guy/gal/person for one...

I can't tell what is going on there. It reminds me of the sports car all demolished around the posed scooter.

I would think for the pillar to be damaged and the pump pulled over, if THAT car did it, it would be torn apart too. The car is fine. I suspect it just happens to be posing after the fact in the location of an accident.

I just can't see what the accident was.

Nicely done!

That's an epic fail of the quick-disconnect on the pump hose assembly. I've been the guy in the Subaru, it cost me about $3000 and a new insurance carrier. But in my case the silver part in the picture just under the lowest corner of the yellow part of the sign at the top of the tilted pump broke apart, as designed when abused by a careless driver such as I.

I've done that twice. Once in Bakersfield, CA - back in 1993 - drove off with the gas hose in the tank - ripped it clean off the pump - gas squirting everywhere - shop owner running after me. I pulled over about 200' from the pump in case it exploded - he waved me off so I bolted before he changed his mind.

Lesson for the day. Don't start the pump then go inside to pay. Do not.

HA! I didn't recognize that place just from the picture. Glad you provided the linked map. Years ago I filled up my gas tank, at the BP gas station catty-corner from there, while visiting my sister who lives about 2 miles straight line distance from that intersection. I've also stopped in the Walgreens down the street. No, the car didn't belong to her family.

Well done guys. I don't remember seeing a pump hose that small that is really stretched because they usually barely make it across the car. I wonder if he'll get blamed for that safety coupling failing to let go?
