Global Peace Index and Sustainability

This section lists the results of the analysis into each nation's peace. This is the prime table in the Global Peace Index section. The countries are ranked from most peaceful to least peaceful, highlighting their ranking as well as their score. You can click on a country to see the detail of its peace indicators and drivers.

China 60
United States 96

This is deceiving. Getting real numbers from mainland china is like proving the existence of UFOs. You have hints but you are just guessing.

Given the lack of open government in China I would say that rather negates any logical conclusions which may be gleemed in a comparison ranking.

Well Australia is at 25. Just goes to show how nice we all are here. :) Very peaceful, until provoked. lol

Will someone please tell Brianna? ;)

DanaC 06-08-2007 06:52 AM

That would involve talking to her.....could get more sense out of a Catherine wheel right now.

Australia would be a great place to live, if not for:

Killer Sharks (Great White, Tiger, Nurse)
Killer Jellyfish (Irukandji, Box)
Killer Snakes (Taipan, Brown, Tiger, Death Adder)
Killer Insects (Funnel Web, Redback, Whitetail, Scorpion)
Killer Reptiles (Crocodiles, Alligators, Bearded Dragons)
Killer Mammals (Platypus: fuckin things are poisonous!)
Killer Environment (Deserts, GIANT OZONE HOLE!)
Killer Opera House (Seriously though nice job on that one)

xoxoxoBruce 06-08-2007 10:31 AM

Ya forgot the toads.

Shawnee123 06-08-2007 10:44 AM

Everybody is forgetting the toads! What is to become of the toads?

So then, what is the point? It's the "4 out of 5 dentists" thing again.

Aliantha 06-08-2007 08:38 PM

OK, I want to know when the Opera House killed anyone. Are you referring to when it was constructed? lol

Yea, but what about the toads?:D

Aliantha 06-09-2007 12:21 AM

bugger the toads. My sons have declared war on them.

They're moving down south now anyway.

Besides, they're nothing to be scared of.

Yepa 06-16-2007 04:11 PM

*is number one on the list*

Huzzah!

I think the list is meant more as a guideline than actual rule. I mean, it's not 100% correct, and some of their peace indicators are a bit strange. It just gives you a general idea.
