April 30, 2009: Flu Masks
Now I don't want to worry you but you may not have heard, there seems to be a little Swine Flu going around.
Now don't panic, it's perfectly safe to eat bacon, ham, and pork. As for the pig you picked up at closing time, you're on your own... but I digress... The biggest impact of this flu has been in, besides the U.S. Media, Mexico. But the people of Mexico City are coping and at least some still have their sense of humor. http://cellar.org/2009/flumask.jpg link |

They're doing it wrong. Gotta put the masks on the pigs.
Attachment 23135 (This is one of three bronze pigs in Rundle Mall, Adelaide, as a piece of public art. People like to be photographed riding them. Some wag was quick off the mark for this stunt. :D Today's local paper carried a pic very similar to this on the front page.) |
Fun with pork!

Art on flu masks? Flu masks on art!
Hot. |
I remember when bottled water began to be trendy and thinking, “Why buy water in a bottle when water is free in the fountains?”. Then, slowly, we get accustomed to drinking bottled water for health reasons.
The idea of having to wear a respiratory filter prior to leaving the house is becoming reality. What is next, sun screen SPF5000? Somebody stop the planet. I want off. |

The upper right and upper left pics of the first one are biker facemasks used for cold weather, you buy them at most motorcyle bike shops in the us.

And apparently Mexico City.
