Tabletop gaming geeks look here...

I've been looking for some mapping software that I'd be willing to try out and these guys have put it to good use using a laptop and projector setup.

Oh my gods I want that.

I was quite the innovator in my time ... took a whiteboard with 1" grid marked on it to gaming sessions.

Projectors are getting smaller and cheaper every day. Everybody I know that games has a laptop almost. No matter who ran the game they could use the software on their laptop and nobody would have access to their files.

ooohhh... drool drool drool.. oh sweet fuck! that would be be be be be soooo coooool... and damn it'd save a barrell full of time. well okay more time building the maps but gameplay would go so much more quicly... now if I can only afford a laptop :)

I can (more or less) afford the laptop.

What I need is a gaming group.

(Yes, Rich, I know that the offer is always open from Dragon, but that commute would suck ASS.)

This is awesome. Me and a couple of buddies would burn away hours of our time on D&D and this would have made it even better. It would be cool if (and I'm not sure if this already exists) had a program that could randomly generate dungeons/maps given some parameters, sort of like what's done for some pc games, and then project that. Then you could take your inspiration from what was already there and "fill" it in.

Look around and see if the 'Goldtree Engine' is still in existance.
