Aug 29, 2010: Our Overlords

They went from our property, to family members, to our overlords.
Whom? Cats and Dogs, that's whom!

The equivalent of a 5 star hotel for cats in England, a water park for dogs in California.
Recession? Ha, the kid may not get shoes, but the Overlords don't care.

In England;

Each chalet is decorated with an individual theme, all with deep comfortable beds , coupled with our delicious “A La Cat” menu served on bone china plates to cater for our guests every need. Every chalet has a separate heated bedroom and themed garden area.
Our porcelain water fountains deliver perfectly fresh oxygenated water 24 hours a day and a round the clock presence ensures the safety of all our guests in particular those very young or senior.
Piped music, changed regularly, is played throughout the day whilst guests can view the birds feeding out of their chalet windows.
I California;

Paradise Ranch Pet Resort located in La Tuna Canyon opened the "Bora Bora Club" Tuesday for man's best friend.
Dogs can dive off a dock, frolick under a cascading waterfall and play beneath water geysers.
The four legged guests can also take surfboard and boogie board lessons and jump off diving boards.
Take that, al-Qaeda. :p:

No point just being able to view the birds feeding out of windows. Have to be able to catch them and leave them on your owner's doorstep as a sign of gratitude for a luxurious day out.

It would be funny if you were able to buy rodent and bird "toys" for your cats as extras. After all, people who own reptiles buy them as food... why shouldn't the hotel owners provide them?

Bone china and porcelain water fountains?:rolleyes:
I'm sure it's very effective at extracting dollar bills from owners' wallets, but I think it would be very difficult to clean, especially between "guests". Most dogs would prefer the open fenced yards where they can play & run with other dogs, I think.

Thanks Bruce! One of my favourite cat moments was when the small lion I have that masquerades as domestic feline brought a mouse inside as a way of expressing express his gratitude and love to me-he probably knew I was about to head o/s again. He played with it for a bit and then when he got tired, he just put underneath his chest and contained it there for a bit until he was ready to play again. :)
